Abstract:
Grid forming control according to the phase-restoring principle is a new concept in which the response to a fault is priorized over the set point specification. This is required for example by NERC. The control which was developed by Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and Siemens AG was validated on a RTDS test system including PHiL with a MMC converter. The test system is part of the Kopernikus ENSURE Co-Demonstration Platform which has been presented at the RTDS UGM 2023.
A short introduction explaining the concept and the current working status of the Co-Demonstration Platform is given. Focus of the presentation will be on the results of the validation of the PRP control under different scenarios.
