This presentation shows how a co-simulation setup, based on RTDS linked with a transient stability assessment tool through a TRI module, can form a validation environment for testing monitoring and automation systems that use PMU measurements.
First, an extended EMT-RMS model of a real power system is presented. The model is then used as a source of validation data for the development and testing of user-written auxiliary modules operating in a SCADA environment in real time. Two such modules are briefly described, and simulation results are provided.
