Abstract:
Nowadays different monitoring, diagnostic and emergency control devices are being implemented in Russian Unified Energy System. These devices are working in real time mode, estimating quality and correct operation of power system equipment or preventing the emergence of power system failures.
The special monitoring system for automatic regulators (MSAR) is used to estimate quality and correct operation of automatic voltage regulators (AVR). MSAR algorithms checks synchronous generator electrical mode via measurement results analyze from phasor measurement units (PMU). These PMUs are connected to synchronous generator stator windings (phasors of current and voltage) and rotor windings (RMS values of excitation voltage and excitation current).
The main aim of the presented work was development test procedure for PMU excitation signal measurement (excitation current and voltage). The main results of work contain description of experiments, the main requirements for measurement. The preliminary tests performed with different PMUs on RTDS.
