Enjoy this webinar where we explore the latest developments related to GTFPGA-SV: The IEC 61850 Sampled Values firmware for the RTDS Simulator’s FPGA-based auxiliary hardware. These new features, including industry-leading options for SV manipulation, will significantly improve the experience and results for power engineers performing real-time simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing with SV-compliant protection and control systems.
The webinar focuses on new options for input/output of IEC 61850-9-2 and IEC 61869-9 SV streams with the GTFPGA Unit. FPGA-based streaming allows for the efficient testing of many SV-compliant devices simultaneously (up to 16 SV streams can be published/subscribed simultaneously via one FPGA), and is suitable for ultra high bandwidth applications which may require sample rates of up to 250 kHz. New options for SV data and stream manipulation allow users to identify and address vulnerabilities in SV-compliant protection before deployment on the grid, preventing cascading failures that can result from non-genuine/non-ideal SV streams and various network disruptions.
